​How often do I need treatments?

This depends, for clients who visit the salon regularly (weekly or bi-weekly) treatments are recommended as needed. A general rule of thumb is at least once a month. Very damaged hair may require more.

 

How often do I need a trim or cut?

​

Trims/cut are as needed. Very damaged hair may require more frequent trims/cuts to prevent further damage up the hair shaft. This encourages high hair density and healthy length retention. It is important to not be afraid to cut damaged hair because as long as you are living, you hair will grow back unless a medical diagnosis suggests otherwise. ;)

Does my overall health affect my hair?

 

Absolutely YES! Your hair follicles are living parts of your body the can negatively affect the blood flow and circulation to the hair follicles. Present vitamins (like C, D), minerals (iron, zinc), and proteins support great circulation and growth. Deficiencies in proteins like iron can impair blood supply, leading to weak, thinning hair as the body prioritizes vital organs, causing follicles to starve and fall out. 

 

Are there products to help with my scalp concerns?

Short answer is Yes, however it is important get a proper diagnosis from a dermatologists to determine the best course of action as treatments will differ. Common conditions like Dermatitis can be managed with continuous use of medicated shampoos, conditioners, regular scalp care treatments that I offer as well reducing the intake of sugar, alcohol, wheat and diary.
